Whats the best way of straigtening a floor for tiling
If you saw my other question, l am also tiling the floor. It is a suspended
wooden floor. It can take the weight of the tiles no problem and will have
tile and slate (cement sheets) attached before the tiles are laid. l need
to get it as level as possible. What would be the best method? Leveling
compound?
Just use latex based levelling cos it needs to be flexible on a
wooden floor. Jeff
12.5mm WBP ply would provide a suitable base for your tiled
floor, and is the most widely used in this situation.Don't nail the ply,
but screw to the existing floor 150mm c/c.Good luck.
Plywood sheets is the best answer. levelling compound on a wood
floor is not a solution as the floor needs to breath or you will get dry
rot. don't forget to leave any vntalation holes in the floor unblocked or
you will also encourage dry rot. other than that get tiling.
a thin layer of levelling compound will do the trick
Trouble with Levelling compound is getting it up after, and the
extra weight.
Hardboard sheeting would even out a lot of the bumps, and then maybe a
thin layer of levelling compound.
I have used Levelling compound, always mix more than you need, and work it out accurately, make a big float on a pole, and wear shoes that are disposable, as you will get it on them. Wicked medifast promo code $10 smugmug coupon
